blueberry almond butter protein smoothie

The first few weeks of 2022 have been a whirlwind for our family, and I’m sure many of you feel the same way. This smoothie has come in handy recently when I don’t have much time or energy (like when caring for my toddler sick with croup). I don’t usually replace my meals with smoothies, but considering the protein this smoothie provides I am grateful to have it in my back pocket. Don’t skip the cardamom, it is subtle but provides a wonderful flavor addition.

yields one 16oz smoothie

1 frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup almond milk or whole milk
1/2 cup whole milk yogurt, either plain or vanilla, and unsweetened if possible
2 tablespoons almond butter
20-30g plain or vanilla protein powder of choice (usually 1 scoop using the included scooper)
1/8 teaspoon cardamom

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
